System Requirements
Software
Section titled “Software”The Windows executables require having the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package installed in order to run.
Storage
Section titled “Storage”Processing is recommended to run off local storage (NVME or SSD) for best performance. Processing may exhibit unpredictable performance when run on NFS, S3 or comparable network-attached storage.
There are no minimum requirements on the number of cores.
-
For optimal throughput items should be numerous and of similar size. Suboptimal throughput should be expected when processing a single large item, such as a large PST file. When run off local storage with enough files in the source directory — all of similar size — Processing should achieve strong CPU saturation up to 16 cores.
-
Under most circumstances, operators will want to maximize the size of batches being processed.
Processing can consume varying amounts of RAM, depending on the file types in a batch. Most file types do not have to be fully read into RAM, but there exist exceptions such as archive formats (ZIP, 7Z, RAR) that can lead to memory use proportional to the batch size.
- To a lesser degree, the amount of data being processed in a batch also has an influence on peak memory use. The more data, the greater peak memory consumption will be.
