Roles

Roles define permissions at the Platform level of Farsight.

Guards represent distinct core elements of the Platform for which individual permissions can be assigned to the Role.

Create Role

1. In the Roles tab click the button CREATE ROLE in the top right corner.
2. Enter a name for the Role into Role Name field.
3. Define individual permissions for available Guards and press button Create to continue.

	Select/unselect all of the permission elements.

	Read elements.
	Update elements (does require & assign Read automatically).
	Create elements.
	Delete elements.
	Archive/Restore (only available for Workspaces).

Manage Role

Note

Every instance does come with a pre-defined, non-removable Role System.

• This role cannot be edited and is holding all 6 Guards.
• Group System Administrators is pre-assigned and non-removable.

List

The following properties will be displayed in the Role list:

• Name
• Guards Count of assigned Guards.

Actions

• Edit
• Delete
• Manage Groups

Details

Assigned Groups

1. Click button MANAGE GROUPS to configure assignments.
2. Change memberships by selecting/unselecting designated Groups.
3. Click button CONFIRM to complete the change.
